OSA is a life threatening and life altering condition that causes a short cessation of breath repeatedly during sleep due to obstruction of the airway by excess tissue collapsing in the throat.
Sleep Apnea has been linked to: irregular heartbeat, high blood pressure, heart attack and strokes, and diabetes. Symptoms you should look for include loud snoring, pauses in breathing and daytime sleepiness. In most cases, sleep apnea is treated with a Continuous Positive Airway Pressure (CPAP) Device (CPAP).
